Great food. Had the Donner kebab and chicken kebab with salad and pitta, chips and curry sauce. Tasty meat, good sauces, and good texture on the chips - not soggy at all even after a 10 minute drive. Better price than other places too. 10/10

As good a piece of Haddock as I've ever had,and I eat a lot of Haddock. This Fish Bar deserves a lot of custom,if it weren't for the fact I'm 70 miles from here,I would be eating here regularly. Keep up the great work and service Thank you for the food Scott

Best fish and chip shop in Carterton! Provided and delivered over 30 meals to our school for an event. All meals were hot and delicious and enjoyed by all!! When visiting the shop the staff are always friendly and clearly work very hard. Thank you so much Burford Road Fish Bar! I would reccomend this fish and chip shop to everyone!

When it comes to decent fish and chips, on the whole I don't get much joy this side of Devon or Yorkshire. But I have bought fish and chips from Burford Road Fish Bar many times, and it has been uniformly excellent. Succulent cod, light and crispy batter and spot-on chip shop type chips. Perfect every time. The other F&C establishment in Carterton centre can be very hit and miss in my experience. I guess the chip portion sizes could be a bit bigger, but that said I am a gluttonous hog and I could always buy more or choose larger portions. For regular folk, the portions are fine. I have always found the staff warm and helpful, and the owner in particular is always super-friendly and enthusiastic about what he does. My cheeriness on entering is always reflected back at me, and I suppose if I was a grumpy sod I might get treated in kind. Who knows? Anyway, BRFB is a great fish bar run by proper people, and is therefore highly recommended.
